Polite Ways to Tell People to Wear A Mask

Ok...so...

I'm not trying to get you slapped out here in these streets. That's first off.

This is in response to an NPR article of a similar title because when I read it, I was like, 'Yo, white people are wild because they do this, and the writer of this article is either white or definitely not Black.' You can check the name, and let me know what you think.

So, I feel an obligation to counter the suggestion that anyone should police other people about wearing a mask in public...unless they're your children, family, partner, and of course, YOU. But other people? Nah. Let them learn the hard way. There are way too many people barking about how a mask can save their lives. If Susan is out here in Trader Joe's bare-faced, that's her and her COVID business alone.

Just be sure to maintain, not 6 but 12 feet from that woman. And never, ever, ever, ever, ever engage if she tries to ask you a question. She is juggling a deadly weapon, knows it and doesn't care. She doesn't deserve to know where the lemon bars are.

But as for the people you KNOW know, like -

Your family. Just threaten them.

Your children. See above.

Your partner. Threaten him/her/them.

You. Don't threaten yourself, silly. Appeal to your ego. Remember that without your mask, you're not saving the world!
